In the summer of 2022, Mr. Quijas, a seasoned FRC Mentor and alum, founded Team 9027. To provide Pathway students with learning and other disabilities with the same opportunities as neurotypical students at other institutions. With a FIRST Robotics Team, our students can learn more than just how to construct a robot; they also have the chance to exercise their creativity and pick up new skills such as electrical and mechanical engineering, fabrication, fundraising, business administration, teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills, and self-assurance. More than 20 students make up the team. To prepare for tournaments, the team meets during resource and homeroom periods.
You can help Pathway students who learn differently as they pursue hands-on learning experiences in STEM and robotics with a donation to The Pathway School, a nonprofit Special Education School. Click here to donate.
